Where Unsold Milk Meets Stubborn Mom Magic
About The Founder
Hey there, I’m Punita! My Backyard Buffalo journey began with Goldie, my trusty buffalo, and a mountain of unsold milk. Turns out, plain buffalo yogurt wasn’t winning any popularity contests, so I had to get creative. That’s when my mom, with her legendary stubbornness, insisted I turn that milk into shrikhand. And boy, am I glad she did! What started as a solution to leftover milk became a full-blown passion project. I blend local flavors with recipes handed down from my grandma, mom, aunts, and every amazing home cook I've had the pleasure to learn from. Goldie’s retired now, but I still source our milk from the fantastic folks at Wainwright Dairy and make everything in small batches with a lot of love, elbow grease, and a sprinkle of stubbornness (thanks to my mom!). From farmers markets to your table, I’m here to show that even unsold milk can turn into something truly spectacular. Thanks for being part of this delicious adventure!
